We’re committed to protecting all species –including those threatened by extinction and other protected animals.
This means, we do all we can to ensure everything sold on our website is regulated correctly and authorised for sale in line with all current rules governing the trade of goods made from endangered species, including those featuring ivory.
That’s why we always abide by the EU regulations derived from CITES (the UN Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna, 1975).
As part of this, we follow CITES’ rules around ‘antiques derogation’ – which means only ‘worked’ antiques acquired before March 1947 containing material “significantly altered from its natural raw state for jewellery, adornment, art, utility or musical instrument” can be legally traded.
We don’t condone any form of intentional trade of objects containing animal parts and products that contravenes CITES’ antiques derogation – and we promise to act swiftly on any evidence of illegal trading in animal products on our site, working with appropriate parties to end any such practices immediately.
