Are there any extra costs I should know about?

There can be extra costs when buying at auction, and these vary from one auction to the next  – so please always check any extra charges before you register so you know what to expect. You can see all the additional fees on the lot page by clicking on the question mark symbol next to 'additional fees'.

Buyer’s Premium – this covers the Auctioneer’s costs, and is added on to the final hammer price, as a percentage of it.

VAT – this is usually only charged on the buyer's premium, but not always so be sure to check how the auctioneer is applying VAT by looking in 'Important info'.

Online commission – this is typically 4.95% of the hammer price, only applicable if lots are purchased online.
