What’s the difference between Live and Timed auctions?

We offer two distinct types of auctions, each providing a unique bidding experience:

Live Auctions:

Live auctions are dynamic and interactive, bringing the excitement of a traditional auction directly to you. With our live audio and video feeds, you can participate in auctions happening around the world in real-time, just as if you were there in person. These auctions are typically held in physical locations like auction houses, yards, or farms, and are broadcast via the-saleroom.com. 

By using live bidding, you can place bids in real-time alongside other bidders who are present at the auction site, allowing you to engage fully with the auction process without needing to attend physically.

Timed Auctions:

Timed auctions don’t have an auctioneer calling the bids. Instead, each lot is available for bidding over a set period. You can place bids at any time during this window. When the time period ends, the highest bid wins the lot, provided it meets or exceeds the reserve price. Timed auctions are easy to identify, as the closing time is clearly displayed on each lot’s page, allowing you to plan your bids accordingly.
